Job Description: Crew Manager – Dredging (Shipping Industry)
Position Title: Crew Manager

Job Purpose
To manage and oversee all crew-related functions for dredgers and associated vessels, ensuring efficient crew deployment, strict regulatory compliance, and smooth crew operations aligned with organizational and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute crew deployment, rotation, and scheduling for dredging vessels including Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD), Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD), and Backhoe Dredgers
- Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC 2006, ISM Code, and applicable flag state regulations
- Manage end-to-end crew documentation such as CDC, CoC, visas, medical certificates, and employment contracts
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of crew across domestic and international projects
- Maintain and regularly update crew database, certification records, and validity tracking
- Liaise with manning agencies, port authorities, and maritime regulatory bodies
- Monitor crew performance, conduct appraisals, and identify training and development needs
- Handle crew payroll inputs, leave planning, and welfare initiatives
- Ensure timely crew change planning to avoid vessel downtime and operational disruption
- Manage urgent crew replacements, emergency situations, and crisis response effectively
- Lead hiring and onboarding for CSD and Backhoe dredger crew, ensuring availability of skilled and compliant manpower
Key Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in crew management within the shipping industry
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in dredging operations, specifically with CSD and Backhoe dredgers
- Strong knowledge of marine compliance, statutory regulations, and audit requirements
- Proven experience managing multi-national crew across multiple vessels and projects
- Hands-on experience in crew recruitment for dredging vessels, especially CSD & Backhoe
- Proficiency in crew management systems/software
Educational Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Nautical Science, Marine Studies, HR, or related field
- Relevant certifications in shipping/crewing operations will be an added advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
