Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Residential Projects
Department: MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
Reporting To: Project Manager
Location: Chennai
Industry: Real Estate – Residential Construction
Experience Required: 5–10 years (preferably in residential or township projects)
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Objective:
To plan, execute, and oversee all electrical engineering works in residential construction projects, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with safety standards, quality benchmarks, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Execution:
- Supervise and monitor execution of electrical work as per approved drawings and industry standards.
- Ensure timely installation of conduits, wiring, switchboards, lighting systems, earthing, and panels.
- Coordinate with civil and plumbing teams for service alignment and trenching.
- Validate vendor and subcontractor works at each stage for quality and adherence.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with IS standards, NBC norms, and local electrical regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality checks of material and installation.
- Address non-conformities and implement corrective actions on-site.
Vendor & Material Management:
- Coordinate with procurement team for material requirements.
- Inspect and verify quality of electrical materials delivered on-site.
- Monitor vendor and subcontractor performance and escalate issues as required.
Testing & Commissioning:
- Oversee testing of electrical systems, panels, and load balancing.
- Coordinate with EB (Electricity Board) for service connection and load approval.
- Ensure successful commissioning of electrical systems and documentation.
Safety & Documentation:
- Implement site safety practices for all electrical work.
- Maintain daily site reports, inspection records, and completion checklists.
- Ensure timely preparation of As-Built drawings and handover documentation.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of LT/HT systems, cabling, earthing, DG sets, transformers, and solar (if applicable).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and electrical design software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Team coordination, communication, and time management skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.E. / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in residential high-rise construction projects.
- Knowledge of state electricity board regulations and safety codes.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
