About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented L2 Network Operations Engineer with hands-on experience in Sandvine solutions, policy control, traffic management, and telecom packet core technologies. The role will support policy enforcement, network performance, and subscriber experience across 3G, 4G, and 5G environments within a 24/7 managed services operation.
What You Will Do
Provide L2 operational support for Sandvine Traffic Steering Platform (TSP) and policy control solutions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents involving Diameter, RADIUS, Gx, and Gy interfaces.
Analyze 3G/4G/5G packet core call flows involving PCEF, PGW, and EPG components.
Perform Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), traffic analysis, traffic shaping, and policy enforcement.
Configure subscriber mapping, quotas, policies, rules, and service plans using Sandvine GUI/CLI.
Conduct packet-level troubleshooting using Wireshark, TCPDump, and network diagnostic tools.
Monitor system performance using tools such as Dynatrace and support operational activities involving PostgreSQL and Vertica.
Manage incidents, escalations, and ticket lifecycle in line with ITIL processes using Remedy/Helix or equivalent tools.
Collaborate with NOC, engineering, operations, customers, and other stakeholders for timely resolution.
Contribute to problem management, RCA, knowledge management, documentation, and continuous service improvement.
Participate in back-office and managed services activities, including operational handovers and critical incident support.
What You Will Bring
Hands-on experience with Sandvine TSP and policy control mechanisms.
Strong knowledge of Diameter, RADIUS, Gx, and Gy.
Good understanding of PCEF, PGW, EPG, and 3G/4G/5G packet core architectures and call flows.
Practical experience in DPI, traffic management, and traffic shaping.
Working knowledge of Linux, Wireshark, TCPDump, PostgreSQL, and Vertica.
Experience in NOC, telecom/network operations, or managed services environments.
Knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage customer/stakeholder interactions professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Dynatrace or similar monitoring tools.
Exposure to telecom operator/service provider networks and 24/7 critical incident management.
Familiarity with service assurance, policy & charging control, and subscriber management platforms.
