Job Summary:
The VMC Setter & Programmer is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to produce precision components as per drawings and specifications. The role ensures quality, productivity, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up VMC machines by installing tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code / M-code.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for machining operations.
- Perform first-off inspection and ensure components meet quality standards.
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize cycle time.
- Maintain proper documentation of programs and production reports.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and basic machine upkeep.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of VMC machine operations and CNC programming.
- Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge).
- Basic understanding of tooling and fixtures.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in shifts if required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in VMC setting and programming.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
