Key Tasks & Responsible:
Create CAD designs for woven labels
Generate Jacquard programs for looms
Coordinate with sampling & production
Ensure design-machine compatibility
Maintain design documentation
Converting artwork/brand logos into machine ready weaving designs.
Creating Jacquard programs for looms (e.g., Jakob Müller MBJ series)
Ensuring design feasibility with yarn, density, and machine constraints.
Core Responsibilities & Design & Development
Create woven label designs using specialized CAD tools (e.g. MuCAD)
Convert logos/artwork into warp/weft patterns
Generate design simulations for approval
Machine Programming
Prepare Jacquard weaving programs for looms
Assign yarn settings, density, pick ratio
Ensure compatibility with machine parameters
Production Support
Provide sample files to sampling & production teams
Support corrections after trials
Optimize designs for machine efficiency & quality output
Cross-Functional Coordination & Work with:
Sales team clarify customer design requirements
PPC & production → ensure feasibility
QC → align design vs output quality
Maintain design records and version control (Documentation & Reporting):
Design library
CAD files & pattern codes
Sampling and approval records
Key Software Used with Primary Tools:
MuCAD (most common for woven labels)
MÜCAD (Jakob Müller) → direct integration with machines
Supports
Pattern creation
Machine parameter programming
Large Jacquard designs up to thousands of hooks
Other Supporting Tools
- Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop (artwork preparation)
- NedGraphics / Pointcarre (advanced textile CAD)
Technical Skills Required as Jacquard weaving knowledge:
Warp / weft behavior
Yarn types, density
Understanding of Pattern creation & correction:
Label structure (damask, taffeta etc.)
These are also covered in your internal showing structure, density & design effects
CAD Skills:
Strong experience in MuCAD or similar & textile CAD tools
Ability to simulate designs & convert to production-ready files
Functional Skills
Attention to detail (very critical for labels)
Colour accuracy & brand matching
Ability to work with tight timelines
Typical Experience Profile
5–12 years in Woven label / trims industry
Exposure to Jacquard looms (Jakob Müller preferred) & Hands on MuCAD experience
