We are looking for a B.E. Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in Robotics and Automation to support the design, development, integration, installation, testing, and commissioning of robotic and automated systems. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical design fundamentals and practical exposure to industrial robotics, automation equipment, and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, and mechanisms for robotic applications.
- Support the design and integration of robotic arms, grippers, end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, fixtures, and automation systems.
- Prepare and review 2D drawings, 3D models, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Select suitable mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, actuators, linear guides, and pneumatic components.
- Perform basic calculations related to load, torque, strength, motion, and component sizing.
- Coordinate with electrical, PLC, controls, and software teams for robotics system integration.
- Develop and maintain BOMs, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Work closely with vendors and fabrication teams for manufacturing mechanical components.
- Conduct inspection and dimensional checks of fabricated parts and assemblies.
- Support robotic system installation, alignment, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Identify mechanical problems and implement effective corrective actions.
- Assist in prototype development and testing of robotic mechanisms.
- Support continuous improvement of robotic systems for performance, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
- Ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable engineering and machine-safety requirements.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, procurement, and project teams.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain project documentation.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong fundamentals in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design.
- Hands-on exposure to industrial robotics and automation systems.
- Knowledge of robotic arms, grippers, fixtures, conveyors, and material-handling systems.
- Good understanding of mechanisms, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gears, shafts, and power transmission.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar CAD software.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of motors, gearboxes, actuators, and motion-control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and integration issues.
- Exposure to PLC, sensors, electrical controls, or industrial automation will be an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Candidates with additional exposure/certification in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation will be preferred.
Experience
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering with exposure to Robotics and Automation.
- Experience in robotic system integration, automation machinery, manufacturing, automotive, material handling, or industrial equipment will be an advantage.
- Fresh B.E. Mechanical graduates with strong academic/project exposure in robotics may also be considered for junior-level positions.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
