Qualification
- Minimum 12th Pass / Diploma in Healthcare Assistance / Nursing Assistant Course preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Knowledge of hospital workflow preferred
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in hospital / clinic setting preferred
- Freshers may be considered as per hospital policy
Job Summary
The OPD Assistant supports the smooth functioning of the Outpatient Department by assisting doctors, nurses, and patients, ensuring efficient patient flow and service delivery in compliance with hospital policies and **National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers standards.
Roles & Responsibilities1. Patient Assistance
- Guide and assist patients in the OPD area.
- Help patients with registration, consultation flow, and movement between departments.
2. Doctor Assistance
- Assist doctors during patient examination and procedures.
- Ensure availability of required instruments and materials.
3. Patient Flow Management
- Maintain proper queue system and appointment coordination.
- Ensure smooth and organized patient movement in OPD.
4. Basic Clinical Support
- Assist nursing staff in basic tasks like vital checks preparation (as instructed).
- Help in preparing patients for consultation or minor procedures.
5. Documentation & Records
- Maintain OPD records and assist in documentation work.
- Ensure proper filing and handling of patient documents.
6. Coordination
- Coordinate with billing, lab, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Ensure timely service delivery for patients.
7. Cleanliness & Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in OPD area.
- Follow infection control protocols.
8. Patient Communication
- Communicate politely with patients and attendants.
- Provide clear instructions regarding procedures and next steps.
9. Compliance
- Follow hospital policies and National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
