Job Summary
The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and procuring electronic components, industrial equipment, mechanical parts, electrical items, and other materials required for manufacturing and project execution. The role ensures timely procurement, cost optimization, quality compliance, and uninterrupted production while maintaining strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement for electronic components, industrial instruments, electrical, mechanical, packaging, and project materials.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs, authorized distributors, manufacturers, and local vendors.
- Source competitive quotations, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Prepare and process RFQs, purchase orders (POs), comparative statements, and procurement reports.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Sales, Stores, and Finance for material planning and project requirements.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock through effective planning.
- Identify alternate sources and develop new vendors to reduce procurement risks.
- Track supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ISO requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Handle procurement for government projects, GeM purchases, and tender-related requirements where applicable.
- Resolve supplier quality issues, shortages, and delivery delays.
- Monitor market trends, component shortages, and price fluctuations.
- Prepare monthly procurement MIS, savings reports, and vendor performance reviews.
