Position: Sub-Contracting QC Engineer

Job Summary
The Sub-Contracting QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and components manufactured by subcontractors. The role involves coordinating with subcontractors, conducting inspections, verifying compliance with drawings and specifications, monitoring delivery schedules, maintaining quality records, and ensuring that subcontracted products meet company and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sub-Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate with subcontractors for job work activities as per production requirements.
- Issue materials and drawings to subcontractors and track material movement.
- Follow up on job progress and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely collection and receipt of finished components from subcontractors.
- Maintain subcontracting records and job work documentation.
2. Quality Inspection & Control
- Conduct incoming inspection of subcontracted components.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, welding quality, fabrication quality, and surface finish as per drawings.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and measuring tapes.
- Identify and report non-conforming products.
- Coordinate corrective actions with subcontractors for quality issues.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality records.
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Verify subcontractor inspection reports and quality documents.
- Maintain GRN/MRN, material issue records, and inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements.
- Maintain traceability records for subcontracted materials and components.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
4. Supplier & Contractor Evaluation
- Monitor subcontractor performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Participate in supplier and subcontractor evaluations.
- Assist in vendor development and improvement activities.
- Conduct periodic quality reviews with subcontractors.
5. Cost & Inventory Monitoring
- Verify subcontractor bills against approved rates and job work orders.
- Support labour cost analysis and subcontracting cost control.
- Maintain monthly stock statements for materials issued and received.
- Coordinate with stores and accounts departments for documentation and bill processing.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Analyze recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA activities.
- Recommend process improvements to improve quality and reduce rework/rejection.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Control and Sub-Contracting Coordination.
- Experience in Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Stainless Steel Equipment, or Manufacturing Industry preferred.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T and fabrication drawings.
- Experience in quality inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Familiarity with subcontracting processes and vendor management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/Tally.

- Ability to coordinate with multiple vendors and departments.
Salary Range
Gross Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹28,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication.
- Knowledge of Welding Inspection.
- Vendor Quality Assurance (VQA) experience.
- NDT or Quality Certifications will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
