Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Design Engineering Intern to join our R&D hub in Bengaluru. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates who want to dive into the world of deep-tech and marine robotics.
Key Responsibilities
- CAD Modeling & Drafting: Assist the core engineering team in creating 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using tools like SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Prototyping & Assembly: Take charge of rapid prototyping tasks, including operating 3D printers, assembling test rigs, and preparing parts for initial validation.
- Component Design Support: Help design smaller mechanical sub-assemblies, brackets, and sensor mounts for our ROVs and ASVs.
- Testing Assistance: Support the engineering team during physical testing of watertight enclosures and structural frames, recording data and observations.
- Documentation: Assist in maintaining bill of materials (BOM), design revisions, and technical reports for ongoing R&D projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Marine Engineering.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required. Active participation in college robotics clubs, Baja/SAE teams, or relevant academic design projects is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic proficiency in 3D CAD software (Fusion, SolidWorks is preferred).
- Good understanding of fundamental engineering concepts (strength of materials, basic fluid dynamics).
- Hands-on Aptitude: A strong desire to build things. You should be comfortable using basic workshop tools and eager to learn about manufacturing processes.
- Soft Skills: Highly curious, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
