About the job
We are seeking a highly accomplished Turbomachinery Engineer to join our advanced propulsion team in the development of state-of-the-art turbomachinery systems for next-generation orbital and deep-space rocket engines. This role requires demonstrated expertise in the end-to-end design and operation of high-performance turbopumps, spanning conceptual architecture, advanced computational analysis, precision manufacturing, system integration, and rigorous validation testing.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Engage in the end-to-end development of turbopumps and related subsystems, including pumps, turbines, seals, bearings, and drive systems.

Conduct hydrodynamic, thermal, and structural analyses to optimize performance.

Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and interface definitions for manufacturing and integration.

Develop test plans, test configuration, procedures and demonstrate the performance of the system through qualification tests. Closely coordinate with assembly, integration and testing teams to execute development activities.

Engage with vendors and suppliers to define technical requirements, oversee manufacturing processes and ensure delivery of high-quality components.

Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques.

Author and maintain design documentation, test plans and qualifications reports.
Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.

2+ years’ experience in design and development of turbomachinery of aerospace applications.

Strong understanding of combustion systems/turbomachinery and feed systems.

Proficiency in CFD, FEA, and thermal/fluid analysis tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write design reports, test plans and deliver presentations.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with additive manufacturing for propulsion hardware.

Knowledge of advanced materials and coatings for high-performance turbomachinery.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment with multi-disciplinary collaboration.
