About Showboat
Showboat is a premier event management and experiential marketing agency dedicated to conceptualizing, planning, and executing world-class corporate events, Government events, brand activations, large-scale conferences, and live entertainment experiences. We turn bold ideas into unforgettable moments, delivering seamless execution and measurable impact for top-tier global and domestic brands.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic, highly organized, and battle-tested Operations Manager to direct our end-to-end event execution, vendor ecosystems, and ground logistics.
In this role, you will be the operational backbone of Showboat, bridging the gap between creative design and real-world execution. You will oversee production schedules, manage high-value vendor contracts, enforce site safety protocols, and lead a team of Operations Executives. Your objective is to ensure every event is built to exact specifications, delivered on schedule, executed within budget, and compliant with all legal and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Operations & High-Level Execution
- Translate complex creative renders and agency briefs into master operational schedules, technical run sheets, and site build blueprints.
- Direct large-scale load-in, build out, live event cues, and teardown operations across multi-venue environments.
- Lead structural, staging, lighting, and audio-visual setups, ensuring precise alignment with approved spatial layouts and brand standards.
- Serve as the senior operational contact on-site, managing real-time risk, crisis mitigation, and contingency plans during live environments.
2. Vendor Management, Procurement & Quality Control
- Build, negotiate, and maintain Showboat’s preferred vendor network (fabricators, AV suppliers, staging technicians, security, and logistics providers).
- Establish strict quality control standards, holding external suppliers accountable for material quality, safety certifications, and delivery timelines.
- Conduct comprehensive RFP evaluations for high-value production items to optimize profit margins without compromising quality.
3. Safety, Permitting & Legal Compliance
- Oversee site risk assessments, fire safety protocols, structural integrity checks, and crowd management strategies for all events.
- Secure necessary government, municipal, venue, and licensing permissions (including sound, electrical, and public safety clearances).
- Enforce workplace safety standards (PPE, load limits, structural rigging) among all staff, freelancers, and vendor crews on-site.
4. Budget Control & Team Leadership
- Manage project operational budgets, tracking fabrication costs, logistics, venue hire, and manpower expenses to eliminate cost overruns.
- Lead, mentor, and schedule the daily responsibilities of Operations Executives, site supervisors, and technical crews.
- Conduct post-event operational audits, vendor performance reviews, and financial reconciliations alongside the finance team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5–8 years of hands-on operations, production, or technical event management experience within an Event Management Agency, Large-Scale Production House, or Live Entertainment Firm.
- Technical Mastery: Deep working knowledge of structural fabrication (MDF, trussing, staging), rigging mechanics, LED/AV specs, power distribution, and CAD layout interpretation.
- Leadership & Crisis Management: Proven ability to manage large on-site teams and remain calm, decisive, and authoritative during high-stress live events.
