In continuation to our discussion the Pondicherry location for the Manufacturing Engineering, Design & Development New Product Development Incharge position, the requirement is as follows:
Position : Manufacturing Engineering
Designation : Deputy Manager - Design & Development
Reporting to : Manager - Design & Development
Educational Qualification : Graduate in Engineering / Diploma in Engineering (both full time)
Experience :
1) 12 - 16 years experience in Hot Forging, Warm Forging, Process Engineering - machining and finishing process, Bevel Gear Process & Aluminium Forging
2) Should possess the basic skills for drafting / CAD, other design and Solid works / Pro E / CATIA
3) Should possess basic knowledge of product design and development engineering
4) Should possess experience in auto component / ancillary industry and an understanding of APQP processes
5) Should possess proficiency in CNC and VMC programming, fixture design and execution
6) Should possess proficiency in GD&T, Jigs and Fixtures
7) Project management skills to handle project milestones and customer requirements
Job description:
The Unit Product Development Engineer is responsible for coordinating the design and development of new parts / improvements in existing parts, as per unit and customer line requirements. This includes collating RFQs from marketing and coordinating feasibility studies for design, simulation, testing, development and productionisation of new parts. The role holder is responsible for documentation and control activities, following Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare plan and schedule for product design and development activities in the unit / plant, including feasibility studies for new projects
2. Responsible for designing and developing parts / components as per project plan and APQP process / guidelines for identified projects
3. Coordinate for testing, validation, parts development, proto manufacturing and productionisation activities, as per product development timelines
4. Support process engineering / process improvement initiatives in the unit, as applicable
