Key Responsibilities:
Student Health Care
- Provide first aid and basic medical care to students and staff during school hours.
- Assess illnesses and injuries and determine appropriate treatment or referral.
- Monitor students with chronic medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, allergies, etc.
- Administer medications strictly as per the doctor's prescription and parental authorization.
- Maintain confidentiality of all medical information.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies occurring on campus.
- Coordinate emergency shifting to the hospital when required.
- Maintain emergency medical equipment and ensure first aid kits are fully stocked and readily available.
- Maintain emergency response protocols related to staff & student health.
Health Records & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and updated medical records of all students.
- Record all visits to the health room, treatments provided, medications administered, and incidents.
- Ensure medical records comply with applicable legal and school policies.
Health Promotion
- Conduct health screenings such as height, weight, vision, hearing, and general health assessments as directed by the school.
- Organize health awareness programmes, wellness campaigns, and preventive healthcare initiatives.
- Educate students on hygiene, nutrition, personal health, and disease prevention.
Parent & Staff Coordination
- Communicate with parents and teachers regarding illnesses, injuries, and health concerns.
- Coordinate with doctors, hospitals, and healthcare professionals whenever necessary.
- Guide teachers regarding students with special medical needs and emergency care procedures.
- Participate in parent meetings whenever required to discuss student health concerns.
Infection Prevention & Safety
- Ensure adherence to infection control and sanitation practices within the school.
- Support implementation of school health, hygiene, and safety policies.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure medicines are stored safely and within expiry dates.
- Maintain daily, monthly and monthly and annual health reports as required.
- Assist during school events, sports activities, educational tours, and camps by providing medical support.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
Education:
Experience:
- School Nurse: 2 years (Preferred)
