We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Linux-based infrastructure, virtualization platforms, enterprise IT systems, and providing advanced technical support for production environments. This role will act as the technical escalation point for L1 and L2 support teams, ensuring high availability of IT services while driving automation, operational excellence, and continuous service improvement.

Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and workstations (Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, and other Enterprise Linux distributions).

Perform system installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

Monitor system health and proactively resolve infrastructure issues.

Act as the final technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and production issues.

Handle escalated incidents from L1 and L2 support engineers.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to junior engineers.

Ensure SLA compliance and timely resolution of incidents and service requests.

Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

Support Digital Content Creation (DCC) applications used in VFX production (such as Autodesk Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Adobe Creative Cloud, 3DEqualizer, etc.).

Troubleshoot workstation performance issues affecting artists and production teams.

Coordinate with Pipeline, Production, and Development teams to resolve technical issues.

Develop automation scripts using Shell (Bash) and/or Python.

Automate routine system administration and operational tasks.

Improve operational efficiency through scripting and process automation.
-
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues.

Configure and manage VLANs, Layer 2 switching, and basic routing.

Configure and troubleshoot managed switches.
-
Work with firewall, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network services.
-
Support network changes during infrastructure implementations.
-
Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge base articles, and system diagrams.

Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure changes and configurations.
-
Follow IT security policies, change management, and operational procedures.

Strong hands-on experience with Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, and Enterprise Linux administration.

Experience managing Linux servers and desktop environments.
-
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, oVirt, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox, Hyper-V, or similar).

Experience handling complex infrastructure incidents and escalated support tickets.

Experience supporting L1 and L2 engineers.

Strong knowledge of enterprise ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, ManageEngine, Freshservice, GLPI, etc.).

Hands-on experience supporting DCC applications in production environments.

Strong Shell (Bash) scripting skills.
-
Good Python scripting knowledge for automation.

Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Minimum 2+ years of experience in the VFX, Animation, or Media & Entertainment industry.

Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, or identity management solutions.

Knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 administration.

Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, or Nagios.

Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
-
Familiarity with container technologies (Docker/Podman) is an advantage.

Exposure to configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
