Program: Integrated School & Residential Program (Class 11–12 | NEET & JEE)
Role Overview
The Academic Mentor (Hosteller) plays a vital role in shaping academic success and providing holistic residential care for students enrolled in our Integrated School Program in Malappuram. This dual-focused role bridges the gap between the Class 11–12 Board syllabus and competitive entrance exam preparation (NEET/JEE), while ensuring a disciplined, supportive, and structured environment within the campus hostel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Residential & Hostel Oversight (Primary Focus)
- Hostel Rounds & Discipline: Conduct regular morning, evening, and night hostel rounds to ensure strict adherence to study schedules, decorum, and campus discipline.
- Structured Environment: Foster a positive, safe, and distraction-free study environment within the Malappuram residential facility.
- Student Well-being: Monitor the physical health, emotional well-being, and daily routines of resident students away from home.
2. Data-Driven Academic Tracking & Evaluation
- Performance Analysis: Continuously track student progress across Daily Practice Problems (DPPs) and Chapter-Wise Exams (CWEs) for both Board and competitive (NEET/JEE) tracks.
- Discrepancy Identification: Analyze performance trends to catch early signs of stagnation or gaps (e.g., strong Board scores vs. weak MCQ performance).
- Targeted Interventions: Implement weekly corrective action plans, study schedules, and focused remedial sessions for struggling hostellers.
- Balanced Assessment: Grade work effectively—evaluating descriptive depth for Board exams while coaching speed and precision for NEET/JEE MCQs.
3. Mentorship & Student Management
- Batch Leadership: Direct and mentor a dedicated batch of 35+ resident students, organizing structured daily and weekly study routines.
- Individualized Support: Conduct regular 1-on-1 goal-setting and motivational counseling sessions to build confidence and reduce exam stress.
- Doubt Clearance: Organize regular doubt-solving sessions during evening/hostel study hours.
- Log Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date academic, behavioral, and attendance logs, tracking performance in weekly tests and Grand Institutional Batch (GIB) exams.
4. Stakeholder Communication & Administration
- Parental Engagement: Maintain biweekly communication with parents to provide transparent updates on academic progress, hostel adaptation, attendance, and emotional well-being.
- Counseling & Alignment: Guide parents on managing expectations between Board prep and competitive exam pressures.
- Operational Duties: Assist with administrative tasks, including logging financial/fee status updates and coordinating local campus logistics in Malappuram.
Key Skills & Competencies Required:
- Academic Expertise: Solid command over Class 11–12 Board syllabi (CBSE/State) along with NEET and JEE exam patterns.
- Residential Life Aptitude: Ability to manage teenager dynamics in a residential/hostel setting with empathy, patience, and firmness.
- Analytical Skills: Capability to translate test score data into customized, actionable study plans.
- Communication Excellence: Strong interpersonal skills to engage compassionately with students and professionally with parents.
- Time & Scale Management: Demonstrated efficiency in handling a load of 35+ resident students while maintaining quality individual feedback.
- Mindset: An empathetic, student-first mentor with a strong drive for academic results and operational discipline.
