Position Overview
Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Nagapattinam invites applications from qualified and passionate educators for the post of PRT – Science(Vocational Education). The ideal candidate should possess a love for scientific inquiry, the ability to simplify complex concepts for young learners, and a commitment to holistic, value-based education in alignment with the Chinmaya Vidyalaya ethos.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Teach General Science for primary classes (Classes I–V) as per the CBSE curriculum, focusing on foundational concepts in biology, physics, and chemistry.
- Experiential Learning: Plan and conduct age-appropriate experiments and "kitchen science" activities to foster a hands-on understanding of scientific principles.
- Curriculum Development: Prepare creative lesson plans, worksheets, and interactive projects that align with the NCERT/CBSE framework.
- Assessment & Growth: Conduct regular formative and summative assessments; provide constructive feedback to help young learners improve their observational skills.
- Inquiry-Based Teaching: Encourage students to ask "why" and "how," fostering critical thinking and a deep appreciation for nature and the environment.
- Remedial Support: Identify diverse learning needs and provide personalized support or enrichment activities to ensure every child grasps core concepts.
- Technology Integration: Use ICT tools, smart boards, and educational simulations to make abstract scientific concepts (like the water cycle or solar system) visual and engaging.
- Value Integration: Weave ethical values and environmental consciousness (e.g., sustainability, conservation) into the science curriculum.
- Parental Engagement: Maintain consistent communication with parents regarding their child’s academic curiosity, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Professional Growth: Actively participate in school events, science fairs, workshops, and professional development programs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Graduate degree in Science (B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or General Science) with a B.Ed. or equivalent teaching certification.
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience at the primary level (CBSE background preferred). Freshers with exceptional pedagogical skills and a passion for Science may be considered.
- Skills: Strong command over English, excellent storytelling/presentation abilities, and a knack for making Science "fun" for young children.
