About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Quality Automation Engineer (SDET) to design, implement, and own an enterprise-grade automated quality engineering ecosystem across our platform.
This is an engineering-heavy role focused on automation, systems validation, reliability, and production readiness.
Our stack includes:
- Next.js (TypeScript) frontend applications
- Python / FastAPI microservices
- Distributed backend services
- AI orchestration and workflow layers
- MCP servers and service integrations
- API-driven architectures
Core Responsibilities1. End-to-End Application Testing
Design and maintain automated testing for our Next.js TypeScript platform.
Responsibilities:
- UI automation and user workflow testing
- Authentication and authorization testing
- Dashboard validation and multi-step flow testing
- Browser compatibility and state management validation
Preferred Tools:
- Playwright (Required), Cypress, Jest, React Testing Library
2. Python & FastAPI Service Testing
Build testing systems for Python microservices and FastAPI APIs.
Responsibilities:
- API automation and service contract validation
- Microservice communication and error handling testing
- Retry logic validation and async workflow testing
Preferred Tools:
- Pytest, FastAPI TestClient, HTTPX, Postman/Newman, Locust
3. Distributed Systems & Microservices Validation
Build automated testing strategies for distributed systems.
Example validation chain:
Frontend → API Gateway → FastAPI Service → Orchestration Layer → MCP Server → Response Handling
Validate:
- Failures, latency, and timeouts
- Retry behavior and circuit breaker logic
- Service degradation and fallback handling
4. AI Workflow & Orchestration Validation
Validate orchestration systems and intelligent workflows.
Areas of ownership:
- Agent workflows and orchestration pipelines
- MCP integrations and context/state transitions
- Prompt pipeline verification and tool execution validation
- Response consistency checks and failure recovery
5. API Contract & Integration Testing
Ensure stability across services through:
- API schema validation and version compatibility testing
- Contract testing and integration regression
- Consumer-provider validation
- Technologies: OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON schema validation
6. CI/CD Quality Engineering
Integrate testing into deployment workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Automated regression pipelines and PR validation workflows
- Build verification and deployment validation
- Staging release confidence and environment health checks
Platforms:
- GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker-based testing
7. Reliability, Load & Performance Testing
Validate system scalability through:
- API throughput and load testing
- Stress testing and concurrency validation
- Bottleneck identification and latency benchmarking
Tools: k6, Locust, JMeter, Grafana, Prometheus
8. Security & Access Validation
- Authentication and role-based authorization testing
- API security validation and token/session testing
- Security regression checks
Required Technical Skills
Frontend Stack:
- Next.js, TypeScript, React architecture, frontend testing methodologies
Backend Stack:
- Python, FastAPI, API architecture, async systems
Automation & Testing:
- Playwright (required), API automation, integration testing, contract testing, E2E regression automation
Infrastructure & DevOps:
- AWS (required) — all infrastructure is hosted on AWS; hands-on experience with EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, API Gateway, and CloudWatch is essential
- GitHub Actions, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Linux environments
Architecture Understanding:
- Microservices, distributed systems, event-driven systems, API gateways, service orchestration
Preferred Qualifications
Nice to have experience with:
- MCP servers and workflow orchestration systems
- LLM-based systems and observability platforms
- Kubernetes, event queues, and distributed tracing
