Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and technically sound IT Engineer to join our IT Department. The role involves managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, supporting trading platforms, troubleshooting system/network issues, and ensuring data security and uptime. The ideal candidate should be resourceful, responsive, and capable of working in a fast-paced capital markets environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Experienced IT and Network Support professional with expertise in managing LAN/WAN infrastructure, internet connectivity, firewalls, cybersecurity protocols, and data center environments.
· Skilled in providing technical support for trading platforms such as NEST, NOW, and ODIN, including Beginning of Day (BoD) and End of Day (EoD) operations, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination. Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, Linux servers, and system applications in live trading and production environments.
· Strong knowledge of network monitoring, performance optimization, firmware upgrades, backups, patch management, and infrastructure health monitoring.
· Experienced in handling multicast routing protocols including PIM and IGMP, along with firewall administration and network security management. Adept at diagnosing and resolving technical issues, tracking incidents through to resolution, and escalating complex problems to vendors or exchange support teams when required.
· Skilled in managing user accounts, access controls, system documentation, software licensing, and data storage systems while ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory standards. Capable of coordinating with stock exchanges, vendors, and regulatory bodies for seamless operations.
· Proven ability to research and implement optimal technology solutions while delivering reliable end-user support and maintaining high system availability in fast-paced trading environments.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or related field (BCA/MCA/B.E./B.Tech)
· 1–3 years of experience in IT support or system/network administration (preferably in financial services)
· Good communication skills
· Familiarity with trading platforms and market connectivity protocols (CTCL, leased lines, APIs) is a plus
· Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, networking equipment, and cybersecurity tools
· Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
· Certifications like CCNA, MCSE, or equivalent are an advantage
Good To Have
· Expertise with VPNs (IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, Site-To Site VPN) and Firewall (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto)
· Experience in Routing and Switching (VLANs, Inter VLAN routing, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, Layer 3, BGP, Static routing, Dynamic Routing Protocols)
· Experience in Firewall and Security
· Knowledge of Linux and Shell/Python scripting
