Key Responsibilities
- Design & Drafting: Assist in drafting 2D and 3D engineering blueprints using CAD tools.
- Site Inspections: Accompany senior engineers on field visits to evaluate contractor progress and quality control.
- Data Analysis: Perform basic structural engineering, hydraulic modeling, or load calculations.
- Project Estimation: Help estimate material volumes and prepare initial Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Documentation: Organize technical project logs, permit data, and daily site safety checklists.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate project details with external material vendors, labs, and contractors. [1, 2, 3]
Typical Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s or Diploma program in Civil Engineering.
- Academic Level: Completion of at least one to two years of core engineering coursework preferred.
- Software Literacy: Elementary knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and MS Excel.
- Blueprint Reading: Basic ability to interpret architectural blueprints and structural layouts.
- Physical Demands: Ability to safely navigate active, rugged construction terrain if requested. [1, 4, 5]
