Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer (Fabrication) to manage our quality assurance processes. You will be responsible for coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders for pre-dispatch inspections (PDI) and ensuring all manufactured parts meet strict quality standards as per engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance & Control
- Prepare and maintain Inspection Plans, Control Plans, and Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
- Generate dispatch documentation, including PDI reports, packaging slips, dispatch check sheets, and ballooning drawings.
- Conduct inward, in-process, and final inspections for mechanical (fabrication) and electrical components (control panels).
2. Customer & Supplier Quality
- Visit supplier sites for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and PDI.
- Perform supplier evaluations and provide technical suggestions for process improvement.
- Conduct on-site inspections of installed systems at customer locations.
- Manage customer quality complaints and prepare CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) reports.
3. Quality Systems & ISO Documentation
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Handle internal and external ISO audits.
- Ensure traceability of dispatched items for warranty claims and AMC support.
- Maintain equipment handover reports and daily installation documentation on the cloud.
Technical Requirements (Must-Have)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Core Skills: Strong ability to read fabrication and GA drawings; deep understanding of GD&T.
- Instruments: Hands-on experience with Vernier calipers, Micrometers, and DFT meters.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with Welding, Machining, Powder Coating, Galvanizing, and Laser Cutting processes.
- Domain: 4–7 years in Fabrication, Infrastructure, or Automotive manufacturing. Experience in Automation or Electrical panel manufacturing is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Proactive coordination with vendors and design teams.
- Structured problem-solving approach during trial phases.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
