Job Title: Chemist / Metallurgical Lab Specialist

About the Role
We are establishing a new, laboratory and extraction facility in Dapoli and are seeking a hands-on Chemist or Lab Specialist to spearhead our metal separation and recovery operations. In this role, you will be instrumental in setting up the lab from the ground up, testing extraction methodologies, and overseeing high-temperature furnace operations for metal recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Development & Testing: Lead on-site testing for separating and melting metals, specifically focusing on the extraction and purification of Aluminum and Tin as well as Nickel and Tin from existing alloy stocks.
- Furnace Operations: Safely operate and manage high-temperature furnaces (operating at ~1500°C) utilizing inert atmospheres (such as Argon) for metal recovery processes
- Chemical Conversion & R&D: Investigate and prove the conversion process of Tin Chloride to Tin metal.
- Byproduct Management: Oversee the handling, processing, and potential commercialization of chemical byproducts (e.g., Hydrochloride salt) and catalysts (e.g., Tin chloride, Tin fluoride).
- Lab Setup: Assist in the physical setup of the Pune laboratory, ensuring all safety protocols and equipment standards are met for a metal treatment environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Masters of Science (BSc) in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of proven laboratory experience specifically within the metal treatment or metallurgy industry.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of high-temperature melting processes, atmospheric controls (Argon), and chemical separation techniques.
Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
