Patient Care Coordinator

Job Summary
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience by managing reception activities, handling the call center, coordinating appointments, and assisting with OP/IP billing. The role requires excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills to provide efficient support to patients and hospital departments.
Key ResponsibilitiesReception
- Welcome and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Register patients and maintain accurate patient records.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
- Guide patients regarding hospital services and departmental procedures.
- Coordinate with consultants and departments to ensure smooth patient flow.
Call Center
- Attend incoming and outgoing calls promptly and professionally.
- Provide accurate information regarding appointments, consultants, and hospital services.
- Handle patient inquiries, complaints, and feedback effectively.
- Follow up with patients for appointments, investigations, and service updates.
- Maintain proper call logs and ensure timely communication.
Billing
- Generate OP and IP bills accurately.
- Process payments through cash, card, UPI, and other approved payment methods.
- Explain billing details and payment procedures to patients.
- Coordinate with insurance/TPA and other departments when required.
- Prepare daily billing reports and ensure proper cash handling as per hospital policy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies.
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative departments for seamless patient care.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and patient-friendly.
- Assist in patient admission and discharge processes.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and escalate issues when necessary.
- Perform other duties assigned by the reporting manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Commerce, or any relevant discipline.
- Diploma/Certification in Hospital Administration is an added advantage.
Experience
- Fresher or 1–3 years of experience in a hospital reception, patient care, front office, call center, or billing role.
- Experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) is preferred.
Skills Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Good computer knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of hospital billing and registration procedures.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Working Conditions
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per hospital requirements.
- Ability to handle a high volume of patient interactions while maintaining professionalism and service quality.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
