Job Summary
The Dye Lab Assistant supports laboratory dyeing activities by preparing dye solutions, conducting shade matching trials, maintaining laboratory equipment, and assisting in color development processes. The role ensures accurate dye formulations and helps maintain quality standards in textile dyeing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing dye solutions, chemicals, and laboratory samples.
- Conduct laboratory dyeing trials as instructed by the Dye Lab In-Charge.
- Support shade matching and color development activities.
- Maintain records of dye recipes, test results, and sample approvals.
- Operate and clean laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Monitor and maintain stock of dyes, chemicals, and laboratory consumables.
- Assist in testing color fastness and other quality parameters.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of dyes and chemicals.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Coordinate with production and quality departments regarding sample approvals.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.Sc. (Chemistry, Textile Technology, or related field).
- Freshers or 1–2 years of experience in a textile dyeing laboratory preferred.
- Basic knowledge of textile dyeing processes and color matching.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and chemical handling.
Skills Required
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, record maintenance).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of textile dyes, chemicals, and safety practices.
