Job Summary
Syrus HOSPITAL is seeking an experienced and licensed Senior Pharmacist to oversee pharmacy operations, ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, and provide exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients. The ideal candidate will lead the pharmacy team, maintain regulatory compliance, manage inventory, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote safe and effective medication use.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations and ensure efficient workflow.
- Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulations.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications.
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
- Monitor medication therapy and support physicians with pharmaceutical recommendations.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including procurement, storage, stock rotation, and expiry control.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, hospital policies, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, documentation, and controlled drug registers.
- Lead, mentor, and train pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication safety programs, and audits.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) ( D. Pharm ). M. Pharm is an added advantage.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication management, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
