- Assist in the design and development of electro-mechanical systems using CAD tools
- Study and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, electrical schematics, and basic control logic
- Support design improvements focusing on manufacturability, ease of assembly (DFA), and system integration
- Assist in preparing basic project plans, timelines, and tracking progress under guidance
- Support procurement activities by helping identify and document required components such as sensors, actuators, fasteners, and electrical parts
- Participate in prototyping activities, including assembly, integration, and basic testing of systems
- Assist in inspection and quality checks of manufactured or procured components as per specifications
- Work with mechanical, electronics, and firmware teams to ensure smooth system integration
- Maintain proper documentation including drawings, BOMs, and test records
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement of prototypes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering / Mechanical Engineering (with Mechatronics/Robotics focus) / Robotics or related field (recently completed or near completion)
- Basic understanding of mechanical design and electro-mechanical systems
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and basic electronics components
- Exposure to engineering drawings and GD&T concepts
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, etc.
Technical Skills (Preferred):
- Basic proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar
- Understanding of 3D modeling and assembly design
- Exposure to rapid prototyping techniques (FDM, SLA)
- Basic knowledge of PLCs, microcontrollers, or control systems (good to have)
- Familiarity with MS Excel / basic project tracking tools
