Job Summary
Dr. Aravind’s IVF Fertility & Pregnancy Centre is looking for an experienced Laboratory Head to coordinate day-to-day laboratory activities and support efficient laboratory operations. The role includes supervising laboratory staff, maintaining quality and safety standards, coordinating workflow, managing documentation, and ensuring that laboratory procedures are carried out according to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily laboratory activities and workflow.
- Supervise and guide laboratory technicians and support staff.
- Allocate duties and coordinate staff schedules based on operational requirements.
- Ensure laboratory procedures are performed according to approved protocols.
- Monitor the availability and proper handling of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Maintain laboratory records, registers, reports, and other required documentation.
- Monitor stock levels of laboratory consumables and coordinate replenishment.
- Ensure proper sample identification, handling, processing, and storage as applicable to the role.
- Follow laboratory safety, hygiene, infection-control, and quality procedures.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other clinical departments when required.
- Identify workflow or operational issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Support training and orientation of laboratory team members.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the laboratory area.
- Assist with internal quality checks and process improvement activities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
Eligibility
- Diploma / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Lab Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in a senior or supervisory position.
- Experience in IVF, fertility, hospital, diagnostic, or clinical laboratory services will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of laboratory procedures, documentation, safety, and quality practices.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate a laboratory team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
