Core Responsibilities
- Scheduling & Coordination
- Assign drivers/vehicles to deliveries or routes
- Plan efficient routes to save time and fuel
- Communication
- Stay in constant contact with drivers via phone, GPS systems, or apps
- Provide updates to customers about delivery status
- Tracking & Monitoring
- Monitor vehicle movement using GPS
- Ensure deliveries are completed on time
- Documentation
- Maintain records of dispatch logs, delivery times, invoices, and receipts
- Handle paperwork like shipping documents or e-way bills (common in India)
- Problem Solving
- Handle delays, breakdowns, or route changes
- Quickly reassign tasks if issues arise
Skills Required
- Good communication (Hindi, Punjabi, English often useful in Punjab)
- Basic computer knowledge (Excel, dispatch software)
- Time management and multitasking
- Knowledge of local routes and geography
- Ability to work under pressure
