Role Purpose
The University Guidance Counselor will support students in making informed academic and career decisions by providing comprehensive university and career counselling. The role involves guiding students from Year 8 onwards through self-discovery, career exploration, university selection, application processes, and successful transition to higher education. The counselor will also collaborate closely with parents, mentors, school leadership, and universities to build a robust college guidance program across campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Student Career & University Guidance
- Guide students from Year 8 onwards in identifying career pathways aligned with their personality, interests, strengths, and academic abilities.
- Provide individual academic, career, and university counselling to help students make informed decisions regarding higher education.
- Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with students and parents to explore suitable university and career options.
- Administer career assessments and psychometric evaluations, analyse results, and provide detailed feedback to students, parents, and school mentors.
- Maintain comprehensive student profiles, counselling records, progress reports, and university planning documentation.
University Application Support
Guide students throughout the university application process, including:
- University research and shortlisting
- Student transcripts and academic records management
- Application planning and timelines
- Common Application and other application portals
- Statement of Purpose (SOP) guidance
- Supplemental essays
- Letters of Recommendation (LOR) guidance
- Interview preparation
- Final application submissions
- Offer evaluation and acceptance
College & Career Readiness
- Develop and implement a comprehensive school-wide university and career readiness programme.
- Design and conduct workshops, seminars, awareness sessions, university fairs, and career-related events for students and parents.
- Encourage students to participate in internships, leadership programmes, research opportunities, community service, CSR initiatives, and other profile-building activities.
- Identify and facilitate external exposure opportunities that enhance students' academic and personal development.
University Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with universities and higher education institutions in India and internationally.
- Coordinate university visits, admission officer interactions, career fairs, information sessions, and networking events on campus.
- Stay updated on university admission requirements, scholarship opportunities, financial aid, programme offerings, and global higher education trends.
Collaboration & Programme Development
- Work closely with school leadership, coordinators, mentors, and parents to ensure each student's academic and career plan is effectively monitored and supported.
- Contribute to the development of school programmes and pedagogical practices that align with students' future academic and career aspirations.
- Prepare periodic reports on student progress, counselling outcomes, and university placement data for school leadership.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Education, Career Guidance, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in university counselling, career guidance, or college admissions, preferably within an international or K–12 school environment.
- Familiarity with Indian and international higher education systems, including undergraduate admissions, scholarships, and application platforms.
Pay: Up to ₹80,000.00 per month
