Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Quality Supervisor with strong foundry experience to supervise quality control activities across the casting process. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining product quality, reducing rejection and rework, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and leading quality improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day quality inspection activities in the foundry.
- Monitor quality at all stages, including pattern, moulding, core making, melting, pouring, fettling, machining and final inspection.
- Ensure castings meet customer drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and analyse casting defects such as blow holes, shrinkage, porosity, cracks, sand inclusion, misrun, cold shut and dimensional defects.
- Monitor and reduce rejection, rework and customer complaints.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, rejection reports and quality records.
- Coordinate with Production, Melting, Maintenance and Tool Room teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure proper inspection of incoming raw materials and consumables.
- Monitor process parameters and ensure adherence to approved quality procedures.
- Conduct regular process and product audits.
- Handle customer complaints and support corrective action implementation.
- Train and guide quality inspectors and production personnel on quality requirements.
- Ensure calibration and proper use of measuring and testing instruments.
- Support implementation of 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
Required Skills
- Strong practical knowledge of foundry processes and casting defects.
- Experience in quality inspection and control of ferrous/non-ferrous castings.
- Knowledge of drawing reading, GD&T and dimensional inspection.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier, micrometer, height gauge and gauges.
- Knowledge of RCA, 7 QC tools, CAPA and problem-solving techniques.
- Good leadership and team-management skills.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under production pressure and meet quality targets.
Qualification
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Experience
Experience in iron/steel/aluminium casting foundries, preferably with exposure to customer inspection, metallurgical testing and casting defect analysis.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
