We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Special Educator to support students with diverse learning needs and ensure an inclusive learning environment in accordance with CBSE and NEP 2020 guidelines.
Position Summary
The Special Educator will identify, assess, and support students with learning difficulties, developmental delays, and special educational needs. The role involves working closely with students, parents, teachers, counsellors, and school leadership to provide individualized support and promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Assessment & Support
- Identify students requiring special educational support through observation, assessment, and teacher referrals.
- Conduct educational assessments and maintain detailed student records.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group remedial instruction.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly.
Inclusive Education
- Support classroom teachers in implementing inclusive teaching practices.
- Recommend classroom accommodations and modifications based on student needs.
- Assist in developing differentiated learning materials and assessment strategies.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all learners.
Collaboration & Parent Support
- Work closely with teachers, coordinators, counsellors, and parents to support student development.
- Conduct parent meetings and provide guidance regarding learning and developmental concerns.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings related to student support and intervention planning.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain assessment reports, IEPs, intervention records, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE Inclusive Education Guidelines and relevant educational policies.
- Assist the school in maintaining documentation required for inspections and audits.
Professional Development
- Stay updated with current special education practices, inclusive education policies, and intervention techniques.
- Conduct awareness sessions and workshops for teachers and parents when required.
- Participate actively in school events, training programs, and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- Diploma / Degree in Special Education recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Valid RCI Registration is mandatory.
- B.Ed. (Special Education) will be preferred.
- Knowledge of CBSE Inclusive Education Policy and NEP 2020 is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Special Educator in a school setting.
- Experience working with students having learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disabilities, or other special needs will be preferred.
- Freshers with valid RCI certification may also apply.
