Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, taxation, reconciliations, and compliance for our textile manufacturing business.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, inventory, costing, GST, TDS, working capital, and month-end closing, with the ability to work closely with production, purchase, sales, stores, and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including purchase, sales, receipts, payments, journal entries, and general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
- Perform monthly closing activities and ensure books are closed within defined timelines.
- Review ledgers, trial balance, provisions, accruals, and outstanding balances.
- Conduct regular bank, customer, vendor, and inter-company reconciliations.
2. Textile Manufacturing Accounting
- Monitor accounting related to raw materials, yarn, fabric, dyes & chemicals, packing materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Coordinate with stores and production teams for inventory accounting and reconciliation.
- Track production-related expenses and assist in monitoring manufacturing costs.
- Support product/job-wise costing and profitability analysis.
- Identify inventory variances, wastage, stock adjustments, and abnormal losses.
- Assist in physical stock verification and reconciliation.
3. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate GST, TDS and other statutory accounting/compliance requirements.
- Review GST input credits, purchase/sales registers, and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and auditors for statutory requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and accounting treatment for tax-related transactions.
4. Receivables & Payables
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable and ensure timely reconciliation.
- Follow up on outstanding customer balances and support credit-control activities.
- Review vendor balances, ageing reports, debit/credit notes, and payment schedules.
- Assist management in monitoring working capital and cash-flow requirements.
5. Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with internal, statutory, tax, and other auditors.
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, and reconciliations.
- Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Strengthen internal controls and identify areas for process improvement.
6. MIS & Management Support
- Prepare monthly MIS covering sales, purchases, inventory, expenses, receivables, payables, and profitability.
- Provide financial analysis and variance reports to management.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and cash-flow planning.
- Provide timely financial information for business decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
- M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter will be an added advantage.
- 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a textile, garment, manufacturing, or similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting and taxation practices.
- Hands-on experience with GST, TDS, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP or other accounting software.
- Good command of MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and basic financial analysis.
- Knowledge of GST and TDS portals and accounting processes.
- Understanding of inventory and manufacturing accounting.
