Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join our refrigeration equipment manufacturing team. The candidate will be responsible for fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning support of refrigeration systems and related equipment such as flake ice plants, chilled water systems, ice handling systems, pressure vessels, piping systems, evaporators, condensers, and skid-mounted refrigeration packages.
The role requires both factory-based manufacturing work and site-based installation activities, making it a hybrid position. The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical fitting skills, the ability to read engineering drawings, and hands-on experience in industrial fabrication and refrigeration projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fabrication & Assembly
- Assemble refrigeration equipment as per approved fabrication drawings and GA drawings.
- Fit and align compressors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, evaporators, condensers, pressure vessels, and structural components.
- Perform mechanical assembly of flake ice machines, chilled water plants, ice handling systems, and conveyor systems.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy during fabrication and assembly.
- Carry out marking, drilling, grinding, cutting, and fitting activities.
2. Piping Work
- Fabricate and install MS, SS, Copper, and GI piping as per P&ID and Isometric drawings.
- Fit valves, strainers, oil separators, receivers, pumps, and refrigeration accessories.
- Ensure proper alignment and support of refrigeration pipelines.
- Assist in hydro testing, pneumatic testing, and leak testing of piping systems.
3. Site Installation & Erection
- Execute installation work at customer sites.
- Erect refrigeration equipment, piping, supports, and utility systems.
- Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors for daily execution activities.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules and quality requirements.
- Support commissioning and trial runs of equipment.
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Support
- Assist service engineers during equipment troubleshooting.
- Replace damaged mechanical components during maintenance activities.
- Identify mechanical issues and suggest corrective actions.
- Participate in preventive maintenance activities.
5. Quality Compliance
- Follow approved drawings, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Ensure workmanship meets company quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping at workplace and project sites.
- Report fabrication deviations and non-conformities immediately.
6. Safety Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ensure safe handling of tools, lifting equipment, and machinery.
- Comply with work permit systems during site activities.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervisors.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings, GA drawings, and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping systems.
- Experience in assembly and alignment of rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and lifting equipment.
- Basic understanding of welding processes and fabrication practices.
- Knowledge of hydro testing and pressure testing procedures.
Soft Skills
- Good teamwork and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Problem-solving attitude.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites.
Educational Qualification
- ITI Fitter Added advantage
- 12th Pass with experience in fabrication project industry with Pressure vessels & Piping
- Additional certification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning will be preferred.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in refrigeration projects, pressure vessels, piping systems, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid role involving approximately 70–80% factory work and 20–30% site work.
- Travel to project sites across India as and when required.
- Ability to work overtime during project execution and commissioning activities.
- Exposure to fabrication shop environment, construction sites, and industrial refrigeration systems.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
