House Manager – Luxury Private Household
Location: Kolkata (with occasional international travel)

Role
The House Manager will take overall responsibility for the smooth running of the residence, acting as the primary point of contact for the principals, household staff and external contractors. You will anticipate needs, solve problems before they arise and maintain the highest standards of service, organisation and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the residence to the highest standards.
- Recruit, train, supervise and motivate household staff.
- Manage staff rotas, schedules, holidays and performance.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers and maintenance providers.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programmes are implemented.
- Manage household budgets, invoices and approved expenditure.
- Maintain household inventories and procurement of supplies.
- Develop and maintain household manuals, operating procedures and service standards.
- Coordinate travel preparations and property readiness before arrivals.
- Manage guest visits and ensure exceptional hospitality.
- Liaise with family offices, personal assistants and security teams.
- Coordinate household events and special occasions.
- Oversee vehicle servicing and household logistics.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Always maintain complete discretion and confidentiality.
- Respond calmly and effectively to unexpected situations and emergencies.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing luxury private households or estates.
- Previous experience supervising domestic staff.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional organisational and planning abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High emotional intelligence and diplomacy.
- Experience managing household budgets and suppliers.
- Knowledge of luxury property maintenance and household systems.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and household management software.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Flexible approach to working hours when required.
- Fluent Hindi and some English preferred.
- Valid passport with willingness to travel if required.
