Electrical HOD (AGM / Sr. Manager) – Power Plant
Department: Captive Power Plant – Electrical & Instrumentation | Location: SRP, Ramgarh | Reports to: Head – Power Plant / Unit Head
Purpose: Ensure uninterrupted, safe and statutorily compliant electrical and instrumentation availability of the captive power plant and its evacuation system.
Qualification: B.E. / Diploma in Electrical or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from Govt. / NIT / reputed private college. Electrical Supervisor Certificate of Competency preferred.
Experience: 12–15 years in electrical and instrumentation maintenance of a captive or independent power plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the turbo-generator electrical system, excitation, AVR and synchronising equipment.
- Maintain HT and LT distribution — transformers, VCB, ACB, cables, capacitor banks and DG sets.
- Maintain the switchyard, evacuation feeders and energy metering.
- Own relay settings, protection coordination and periodic testing of all protection schemes.
- Maintain PLC / DCS / SCADA systems, field instruments, control valves and interlocks.
- Analyse every tripping to root cause and implement documented corrective action.
- Ensure CEIG approvals, statutory testing certificates and electrical registers remain current.
- Plan the annual electrical shutdown, critical spares and AMC contracts; drive auxiliary consumption reduction.
- Enforce electrical safety — LOTO, permits, insulated tools and arc-flash precautions.
Pay: ₹28,794.59 - ₹87,205.47 per month
