Part-Time Design & Project Coordinator
Location: Calicut, Kerala (on-site)
Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary (2–3 Months, extension possible)
Working Hours:5 hours per day, 5 days a week
A well-established small-scale woodworking industry in Calicut, with over 30 years in business, is seeking a highly motivated Design & Project Coordinator to support the setup of a new office and the reorganization of a manufacturing facility from the ground up.
This is an excellent opportunity for freshers as well as experienced candidates from Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Interior Design backgrounds to gain hands-on exposure to facility design, project coordination, and construction management. The selected candidate will work directly with the project owner and play a key role in transforming concepts into a fully functional workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop facility layouts, floor plans, and workspace designs using AutoCAD or similar software
- Create and maintain project drawings and documentation
- Assist in planning the office setup and facility reorganization, including work areas, storage, utilities, and workflow optimization
- Source materials, equipment, and services from local suppliers
- Obtain quotations and compare vendor proposals
- Coordinate with contractors, fabricators, electricians, carpenters, and other trades as required
- Track project progress and help ensure milestones are achieved on schedule
- Be based on-site, overseeing day-to-day progress and providing regular project updates
- Assist with problem-solving and design modifications during construction and installation
Qualifications
- Degree/diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Interior Design (freshers and experienced candidates are both welcome)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
- A good aesthetic sense, with an eye for interior design, finishes, and functional layouts
- Strong organizational and communication skills (Malayalam and English)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Comfortable interacting with suppliers and contract workers
- Practical, hands-on mindset with strong attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SketchUp, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar design software
- Exposure to construction, workshop, manufacturing, or facility layout projects
- Basic understanding of project management principles
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
