About the Role
Wishes and Blessings is looking for a sharp, detail-oriented and proactive Data & Research Officer to strengthen the organisation’s data systems, research, reporting and programme documentation.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with numbers, reports, field data, donor requirements and research-based content. The role requires someone who can analyse information, organise data meaningfully, use AI tools smartly and support multiple departments in creating strong, evidence-backed communication.
This is a generalist role for someone who enjoys structure, research, problem-solving and working across programmes in a fast-paced NGO environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & MIS
- Maintain and update programme-wise data across education, food, elderly care, skill development, relief and other initiatives.
- Create and manage MIS formats, trackers, beneficiary databases and monthly reporting sheets.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency and timely collection of data from centres and programme teams.
- Identify gaps in data collection and suggest better systems for documentation and reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual data summaries for internal review.
Research & Documentation
- Conduct research on social sector issues, CSR trends, donor priorities, government schemes and development models.
- Support the team with background research for proposals, presentations, reports, campaigns and concept notes.
- Compile impact stories, programme briefs, case studies and need-based documents.
- Help build evidence-backed content for donor communication, website, social media and reports.
Impact Reporting & Dashboards
- Support the creation of impact dashboards for donors, CSR partners and internal leadership.
- Track key indicators such as meals served, children supported, elders rescued, women trained, geographical reach and programme outcomes.
- Present complex information in a clear, simple and visually understandable format.
- Coordinate with programme teams to verify numbers and impact claims.
AI & Digital Tools
- Use AI tools for research, drafting, summarising, data cleaning, presentations and report structuring.
- Explore simple AI-based solutions to improve efficiency in reporting, documentation and communication.
- Ensure AI-generated content is fact-checked, ethical and aligned with the organisation’s tone.
- Support the team in using basic digital tools more effectively.
Generalist Support
- Assist senior management with research notes, meeting briefs, donor presentations and internal documents.
- Coordinate with different departments for information, updates and reports.
- Support proposal writing, CSR documentation and programme reviews when required.
- Help maintain organised digital records of reports, photographs, beneficiary details and donor documents.
- Be willing to take up cross-functional tasks depending on organisational needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Economics, Data, Research, Public Policy, Management or related fields.
- 1–3 years of experience preferred; freshers with strong research and analytical skills may also apply.
- Strong command over MS Excel/Google Sheets.
- Good writing, research and documentation skills.
- Basic understanding of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Canva AI or similar platforms.
- Ability to convert raw information into structured reports and insights.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Comfortable coordinating with field teams and following up for data.
- Good written and spoken English.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in NGO reporting, CSR documentation or donor communication.
- Knowledge of dashboards, data visualisation or tools like Power BI/Looker Studio is a plus.
- Ability to create clean presentations and visual reports.
- Understanding of impact measurement and social sector indicators.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
