JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Purchase Manager
Location: Bhayandar, Mumbai
CTC: Up to 10LPA
Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Working Hours: 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Industry: Rubber, Steel, Automotive, Petrochemical, Chemical & Related Manufacturing
Role & Responsibilities:
- The Purchase Manager is responsible for sourcing, procurement, vendor management, cost control, and timely availability of all raw materials, consumables, spares, and services required for smooth operation of the factory.
- Plan & execute procurement of raw materials and services.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts to ensure best value procurement.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers.
- Maintain approved vendor list and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted production.
- Work closely with Stores to monitor inventory and avoid overstocking or shortages.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Stores, and Finance for material planning.
- Ensure all procurement documentation is accurate and complete (PO, GRN, contracts, etc.).
- Oversee logistics, transportation, and timely delivery of materials.
Required Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Education: Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or any relevant field. MBA (Supply Chain) preferred.
- Experience: 8 years of purchase experience in a manufacturing (steel / rubber/chemicals) company.
