Purpose
The Manager – Design & Planning is responsible for leading the HVAC and cleanroom system design process for pharmaceutical and controlled environment projects. This includes managing the design lifecycle from concept to construction drawings, ensuring adherence to global standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining effective client communication. The role requires both strong technical skills and leadership capabilities to manage teams, drive quality, and meet project deadlines efficiently.
Role and Responsibilities
1 Project Design and Planning
- Lead the design of HVAC and cleanroom systems based on client requirements, regulatory standards, and GMP compliance.
2 Project Planning
- Plan engineering deliverables, design milestones, and ensure timely preparation and release of drawings.
- Review GA, detail, P&ID, ducting, piping, and RCP drawings; ensure accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
3 Timelines and Progress Reporting
- Set up timelines for all projects and report progress to the Head of Department regularly in approved formats.
4 Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a team of draughtsmen and design engineers; conduct training to improve technical proficiency.
5 Ambiguity Highlighting and Work Assignment
- Highlight any ambiguities found during detailed designing concerning the sales BOQ.
- Assign and check all work assigned to the Planning & Designing team.
6 Submittals and Coordination
- Ensure timely submittals of all drawings as per project timelines.
- Coordinate with clients/consultants for speedy approvals of submitted drawings.
7 Material Indents and Approval Coordination
- Check indents of materials prepared by Planning Engineers.
- Ensure commercial and technical approvals are received on time.
8 Project Dispatch and Reconciliation
- Prepare dispatch plans for projects.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Logistic teams for timely dispatch of materials.
- Prepare reconciliation of projects and update commercial statements.
9 Financial Management
- Follow up with clients for payment against supply.
- Prepare project profitability statements.
10 Project Coordination
- Coordinate project activities in consultation with the Project Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Master’s Degree (M.Tech / M.E.) in Mechanical, HVAC, or Building Services Engineering Diploma in HVAC Design & Planning (added advantage)
Certifications in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or related HVAC/cleanroom design tools
Experience:
10–15 years of relevant experience in HVAC and cleanroom design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Hands-on experience in managing multiple projects for pharmaceutical, FMCG, or healthcare clients.
Skills:
- Expertise in HVAC design, cleanroom planning, and pharmaceutical project requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), MS Project, and Excel.
- Knowledge of GMP, WHO, USFDA, EUGMP standards in cleanroom design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Effective team leadership, time management, and communication skills.
- Exposure to project costing, estimation, and BOQ review is an added advantage.

Pay: Up to ₹1,700,000.00 per year
