We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, materials, labor, and execution. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to evaluate project requirements and budgets effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation & Budgeting
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on drawings, specifications, and requirements
- Analyze material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs
- Develop BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and project budgets
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
Technical Analysis
- Review engineering drawings and technical documents
- Identify project requirements and potential cost impacts
- Coordinate with design, engineering and procurement teams
Tender & Proposal Support
- Assist in preparing tender documents and bid submissions
- Evaluate project feasibility and pricing strategies
- Support contract negotiations with accurate cost data
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor project costs against estimates
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare cost comparison reports and variance analysis
Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams
- Communicate cost implications of design or scope changes
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, or construction/project costing
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation and estimation tools
- Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation software (AutoCAD knowledge is a plus)
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects
- Knowledge of tendering processes and contract management
- Good communication and negotiation skills
