Job Summary:
The Siemens PLC and SCADA Programmer will lead the automation efforts for
industrial projects. You will be responsible for writing logic for Siemens S7-series
controllers and designing high-quality visualization interfaces (HMI/SCADA). Your
goal is to create robust, modular, and scalable code that minimizes downtime
and provides operators with intuitive control over complex processes. Candidate
should be ready to travel on site for implementation and trouble shoot
issues if required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. PLC Logic Development
- Program Design: Develop and debug complex PLC code using TIA
Portal or Step 7 Classic.
- Language Proficiency: Write logic in various IEC 61131-3 languages,
primarily Ladder Logic (LAD), Function Block Diagram (FBD),
and Structured Control Language (SCL).
- Modular Architecture: Create reusable Function Blocks (FBs) and
Functions (FCs) using Data Blocks (DBs) for standardized project
execution.
- Hardware Configuration: Select and configure Siemens hardware,
including S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300, and ET 200 distributed I/O systems.
2. SCADA & HMI Visualization
- Interface Design: Design and configure SCADA systems using WinCC
Professional, WinCC V7.x, or WinCC Unified.
- Graphics & Animation: Create intuitive HMI screens for Siemens
Comfort or Basic panels to provide real-time process monitoring.
- Alarms & Trends: Configure alarm management systems and historical
data logging (Trending) for process analysis.
- Scripting: Utilize C-Script or VBScript (and increasingly JavaScript for
WinCC Unified) to handle complex background tasks and dynamic UI
elements.
3. Networking & Integration
- Industrial Protocols: Establish communication between PLCs, HMIs, and
drives using PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and Modbus TCP/RTU.
- Drive Integration: Configure and commission Siemens SINAMICS VFDs
(Variable Frequency Drives) via Start drive within TIA Portal.
- IIoT & Data: Interface the SCADA system with SQL databases or higherlevel MES/ERP systems for production reporting.
4. Testing & Commissioning
- Simulation: Use PLCSIM and PLCSIM Advanced to validate logic in a
virtual environment before on-site deployment.
- Field Commissioning: Perform on-site startup, including I/O checking,
loop tuning (PID), and troubleshooting of electrical panels.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed "As-Built" documentation, I/O lists,
and user manuals.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Customer-oriented mindset.
Note:
- Candidate should reside on western line of Mumbai
