Job Summary
The Junior Pharmacist is responsible for assisting in the dispensing of medications, maintaining pharmacy inventory, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting the efficient operation of the hospital pharmacy. The role involves providing medication-related assistance to patients and healthcare professionals while adhering to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Operations
- Dispense medications accurately as per physicians' prescriptions under the guidance of the Senior Pharmacist.
- Verify prescription details and ensure proper labeling of medications.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of medicines to inpatients and outpatients.
- Ensure medicines are stored according to recommended storage conditions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
Inventory Management
- Assist in receiving, checking, and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Senior Pharmacist.
- Check expiry dates regularly and segregate near-expiry and expired medications.
- Assist in inventory audits and stock reconciliation activities.
- Maintain records of medicine receipts, issues, and returns.
Patient Care & Support
- Provide basic medication counseling regarding dosage and administration as directed.
- Respond to routine medication-related queries from patients and hospital staff.
- Ensure timely delivery of medications to wards and departments.
- Promote patient safety through accurate dispensing practices.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate dispensing and inventory records.
- Follow hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Assist in NABH compliance activities and pharmacy audits.
- Report medication errors, discrepancies, or adverse events promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
- Valid Pharmacist Registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in hospital or retail pharmacy.
- Freshers with valid registration may apply.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and dispensing procedures.
- Basic inventory management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with pharmacy software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions
- Hospital-based pharmacy environment.
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
- May be required to support emergency medication dispensing.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
