Job Summary
We are looking for a courteous, organized, and customer-focused Hospital Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth registration and appointment process while delivering excellent patient service. The candidate should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients, visitors, and attendants professionally.
- Register new patients and verify patient information.
- Schedule, reschedule, and manage doctor appointments.
- Handle patient admissions and coordinate with relevant departments.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Guide patients regarding hospital services, departments, and procedures.
- Verify insurance, TPA, and cashless documentation where applicable.
- Collect consultation fees and issue receipts using the hospital billing system.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, diagnostic departments, and billing teams.
- Handle patient queries, complaints, and escalate issues when required.
- Maintain reception area cleanliness and ensure a welcoming environment.
- Perform other administrative duties assigned by the hospital management.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred).
- Diploma or certification in Hospital Administration or Front Office Management is an added advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience as a receptionist, front desk executive, or customer service executive in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setup.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills may also apply.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English, Hindi, and Marathi (preferred).
- Pleasant personality with strong interpersonal skills.
- Good computer knowledge (MS Office, email, hospital management software).
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is an advantage.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals is preferred.
- Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Experience handling insurance and TPA processes is desirable.
