Job Summary
The Billing Executive is responsible for preparing accurate patient bills, processing payments, coordinating with insurance/TPA teams, and ensuring timely and error-free billing in accordance with hospital policies. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and knowledge of hospital billing procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate accurate inpatient (IPD), outpatient (OPD), emergency, ICU, OT, Cath Lab, and pharmacy bills.
- Verify patient details, treatment charges, investigations, procedures, and consumables before bill generation.
- Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and other departments to ensure all services are billed.
- Process cash, card, UPI, cheque, and online payments as per hospital policy.
- Handle advance collections, deposits, refunds, and final settlements.
- Coordinate with the TPA/Insurance department for cashless and reimbursement cases.
- Explain billing details and payment procedures to patients and their relatives.
- Maintain accurate billing records and daily cash collection reports.
- Prepare daily billing, collection, and outstanding reports.
- Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies, financial controls, and statutory requirements.
- Resolve billing discrepancies promptly and escalate unresolved issues to the reporting manager.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
- Coordinate with the Accounts department for reconciliation and reporting.
- Support NABH documentation and billing-related audits.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), or any graduate.
- Certification in Hospital Administration or Medical Billing will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in hospital billing, medical billing, or healthcare billing.
- Fresh graduates with relevant knowledge may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of hospital billing procedures and billing software (HIS).
- Understanding of TPA/Insurance billing processes.
- Basic accounting and cash-handling knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and in rotational shifts.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per hospital requirements.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
