Key Qualifications & Experience (NMC Norms):
- Essential Qualification: MBBS with a postgraduate degree (MD in Forensic Medicine/Toxicology or DNB in Forensic Medicine) recognized by the NMC.
- Teaching Experience: A minimum of 4 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in Forensic Medicine in a recognized medical college/institution.
- Research Publications: At least two research publications in indexed journals (only original papers, systematic reviews, and meta-analysis are accepted).
- Mandatory Training: Successful completion of the Basic Course in Medical Education Technology and Basic Course in Biomedical Research from designated institutions. Gujarat University of Transplantation Sciences +2
Alternative/Additional Norms (2025 Regulations):
- Faculty must be under 70 years of age.
- Existing specialists with 10 years of total experience in a recognized institution (with appropriate PG degree) can be appointed as Associate Professors.
- Equivalence is determined for DNB holders, allowing them to qualify if they meet the teaching experience requirements. NMC +4
