Job Summary:
The ECHO Technician is responsible for performing echocardiography and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate data for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac patients. The role requires technical proficiency, patient care, and adherence to hospital and departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform 2D Echo, Color Doppler, Stress Echo, and other cardiac diagnostic tests as advised by the physician.
- Prepare and position patients for the procedure, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain echocardiography machines and related equipment.
- Ensure accurate recording, documentation, and reporting of test results in the hospital information system (HIS).
- Assist cardiologists during specialized cardiac diagnostic procedures if required.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in the echo lab.
- Manage patient scheduling, workflow, and reporting in coordination with the MRD and OP/IP departments.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and findings at all times.
- Participate in training, quality improvement, and accreditation activities as required by the hospital.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Sc in Cardiac Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Certification in Echocardiography preferred.
- Fresher.
- Familiarity with hospital software (HIS / PACS) and digital reporting systems.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting echo machines.
- Good communication and patient interaction skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and within a team.
