Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Maintenance for one of our reputed clients in the sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing industry.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing preventive and breakdown maintenance activities, minimizing machine downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for sheet metal machinery and production equipment.
- Manage maintenance activities for:
- Laser cutting machines
- TPP machines
- Bending machines
- Welding and fabrication equipment
- Powder-coating equipment
- Assembly-line machinery
- Supervise breakdown maintenance and ensure the quick resolution of equipment failures.
- Minimize machine downtime and support uninterrupted production operations.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend necessary repairs, upgrades, or replacements.
- Maintain records of preventive maintenance, breakdowns, spare-parts usage, and machine history.
- Coordinate with production and stores teams to ensure smooth operations and the timely availability of spare parts.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, statutory requirements, and ISO 9001 processes.
- Train and guide maintenance technicians to enhance their technical capabilities.
- Drive continuous-improvement initiatives to improve machine performance and equipment reliability.
- Update maintenance activities and records in ERP or maintenance management systems.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of maintenance experience in the sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal machinery and fabrication equipment.
- Good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
- Experience working with ERP tools or maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good organizational, team-management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with production, stores, and technical teams.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates currently working as an Assistant Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Engineer, Senior Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, or Deputy Maintenance Manager in a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing organization will be preferred.
