Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Cook to support the preparation and cooking of meals in large quantities for patients, staff, and visitors. The candidate should have experience in bulk food preparation, maintain high standards of hygiene, and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals as per the daily menu.
- Prepare food in large quantities while maintaining quality and taste.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, utensils, and work areas.
- Follow food safety and infection control guidelines.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and handling food materials properly.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Support timely meal distribution to patients and staff.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Follow instructions from the Head Cook/Kitchen Supervisor.
- Maintain proper personal hygiene and grooming standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in bulk cooking (Hospital, Hostel, Hotel, Industrial Canteen, or Catering).
- Knowledge of South Indian food preparation is preferred.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle large-scale meal preparation.
- Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospital or institutional kitchens will be an added advantage.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
