Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment. Ensure maximum uptime of production equipment to achieve manufacturing targets. Maintain reactors, centrifuges, dryers, filters, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, agitators, and associated mechanical systems. Supervise maintenance activities and contractor manpower during shutdowns and projects. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for enhanced reliability and efficiency. Prepare maintenance schedules and maintain equipment history records. Coordinate with Production, EHS, QA, and Utility departments to ensure smooth plant operations. Ensure compliance with GMP, cGMP, SOPs, safety standards, and engineering documentation. Execute equipment installation, commissioning, qualification support, and validation activities. Prepare spare parts planning, inventory control, and annual maintenance budgets. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Ensure statutory inspections and compliance for pressure vessels, lifting tools, and other mechanical assets. Support energy conservation and cost optimization initiatives. Maintain calibration and maintenance records as per regulatory requirements. Participate in audits and ensure timely closure of engineering observations. Required Skills Knowledge of API manufacturing equipment and maintenance practices. Strong understanding of rotating and static equipment. Familiarity with GMP, cGMP, EHS, and engineering documentation. Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals. Experience with SAP PM or other CMMS software. Good troubleshooting and analytical skills. Effective communication and team coordination abilities. Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Experience 3–8 years of experience in API, pharmaceutical, chemical, or bulk drug manufacturing.
