Part-Time ROS & Linux Instructor (Robotics & AI)

St. Joan’s School invites applications from passionate and experienced professionals for the position of Part-Time ROS (Robot Operating System) & Linux Instructor to join our growing Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for industry professionals, researchers, university faculty, or robotics enthusiasts who wish to inspire the next generation through practical, project-based learning.
Key Responsibilities -
- Teach Linux (Ubuntu) fundamentals and command-line operations.
- Deliver hands-on training in ROS 2 (Robot Operating System).
- Guide students in robotics programming using Python and C++.
- Develop projects involving autonomous robots, sensors, computer vision and AI.
- Conduct simulation-based learning using Gazebo and RViz.
- Mentor students for robotics competitions, hackathons and innovation projects.
- Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, AI or a related field.
Strong working knowledge of:
- Linux (Ubuntu)
- ROS 2
- Python
- C++
- Git
- Experience with robotics platforms such as Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Arduino or similar.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
Desirable Skills
- OpenCV
- SLAM & Navigation
- LiDAR, Camera & IMU Integration
- Embedded Linux
- AI & Machine Learning for Robotics
- Docker
- Experience with autonomous mobile robots or drones
